"We make food that makes people happy"
OUR STORY
Since 1961, The Hen House Restaurant has been a cherished part of the Frostburg, Maryland community, offering a welcoming and cozy dining experience. As a family-owned and operated restaurant, we take great pride in serving fresh, homemade food crafted with care and tradition.
Our menu features a wide range of customer favorites, including hand-cut steaks, BBQ ribs, shrimp, scallops, Maryland crabs, and our famous fried chicken, prepared with a 50-year-old family recipe. We also offer creative, chef-inspired daily specials, ensuring there’s always something new and exciting to enjoy. For those looking to unwind, our full-service bar and beautiful outdoor deck provide the perfect setting to relax and make memories.
Rooted in history, The Hen House was established by Buck and Ginny Warn with just an $800 loan and a courageous dream. What began on Bowery Street has grown into a beloved dining destination, located in the heart of Garrett County along U.S. 40, a gateway to attractions like Deep Creek Lake, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, the Great Allegheny Passage, Seven Springs, Fallingwater, and Ohiopyle.
Our dedication to quality extends beyond the kitchen. We source local produce and create many of our dishes with handmade sauces and ingredients, including our signature Damn Fine Hen House BBQ Sauce and freshly baked bread. With a friendly staff and a focus on providing the best dining experience, we aim to make every visit memorable.
Thank you for choosing The Hen House Restaurant. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, we’re honored to share our love of great food and hospitality with you and yours. Welcome to our table!
